BEER cheat sheet

For all you beer lovers out there the purpose of this article is not to tell you to never drink it again. We just want you to be educated about beer and weight loss or trying to maintain your current weight. With all the barbeques right around the corner,beer is often the drink of choice. As the sun shines and the good times roll, just make sure to remember that beer calories do count!

While "light beers" do have less calories, they still have a good amount and all of them are empty calories. Here is a beet cheat sheet to show you how too many cold ones can really add up and sabotage your desired caloric intake for that day. The beers are listed from least amount of calories to the most:

  • Michelob Ultra: 95 Calories per beer

  • Corona Light: 99 Calories per beer

  • Coors Light: 102 Calories per beer

  • Bud Light: 110 Calories per beer

  • Heineken: 110 Calories per beer

  • Sam Adams Light: 119 Calories per beer

  • Guinness: 125 Calories per beer

  • Budweiser: 145 Calories per beer

  • Corona Extra: 148 Calories per beer

  • Sam Adams Seasonal: 190 Calories per beer

If you are planning on throwing back a few times make sure to tweak your meals to allow for extra calories you will be consuming. It also helps to pick the number of beers you are going to have then stick to it. Another great way to cut down on the amount you consume is drink a glass of water in between beer. This will help you spread out your alcohol consumption, as well as stay hydrated and feel fuller to avoid overeating.
